Davis Lundy founded The Moriah Group in 1994. His career as a journalist spanned 18 years, the last six at
The Chattanooga Times; he followed that with seven years at Erlanger Health Systems where he managed the marketing and communications. His career spans more than 30 years and has been marked by a
deep understanding of public opinion and a
sixth sense about what people think and how they make decisions about anything from a product to a candidate for office.
He has
defined and implemented communication strategies in a variety of public and private industries including
utilities, public education, public affairs and healthcare. He was the chief strategist and media counsel for Senator Bob Corker’s successful 2001 mayoral campaign in Chattanooga and worked alongside Zach Wamp in his successful 1994 congressional campaign.
Davis has served on the boards of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Greater Chattanooga Sports and Events Committee (which he co-founded), and Pressing On Ministries. He is past chairman of the NCAA I-AA National Football Association Game.
He is a 1977 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He and his wife, Sherry, are the proud parents of Jordan, Anna-Katherine and Matt.
Davis is likely to be found listening to Queen, REO Speedwagon, The Police (“King of Pain’), and Bruce Springsteen with a mixture of Brian Doerksen, the Eagles and Kansas. If sports talk radio is available, iPODs are not in use. Reading time is limited and usually filled by the Bible and this week’s Sports Illustrated.

JIM GILLILAND

Jim Gilliland has been part of The Moriah Group for almost seven years. His career spans more than 30 years of management and professional experience including
advertising, corporate communications, public relations, media relations, employee relations, event and issues management and crisis communication. He has worked in diverse industries including non-profit, retail, banking, manufacturing, healthcare, government, tourism and publishing.
Jim worked in Nashville for nearly two decades where he served part of his time as Senior Vice President at Dye, Van Mol and Lawrence. In addition, Jim worked for Atkinson Public Relations, a strategy-based public relations firm, as executive vice president. He also served as director of marketing for the Retail Division of LifeWay Christian Resources and See Rock City, Inc. Prior to joining The Moriah Group, Jim operated his own marketing communications practice.
He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he earned his degree in journalism and minored in marketing.
Jim is
an avid hiker, loves working out at the YMCA with his son and enjoys riding throughout America on his sport touring motorcycle (next trip scheduled for June 25-July 5th to Utah, Arizona and Colorado. On his iPOD’s recently played songs are Michael w. Smith's instrumental project "Freedom" as well as Tom Petty's "Wildflower," Journey's "Faithfully," and Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze." The last book he read was
The Shack. He is currently reading about the Constitution of the United States as well as daily reading in
Isaiah, Nehemiah, and C.S. Lewis'
Mere Christianity.
VINCE BUTLER
Husband, father, political activist, number cruncher, pool shark and baseball fan
Vince Butler joined The Moriah Group in 2004 and has worked in the public relations industry for 12 years. Prior to joining The Moriah Group in 2004, he was the development representative for the American Cancer Society in Chattanooga.
Vince works with clients to manage their
advertising, media relations and grassroots advocacy efforts. He works with clients in public education, regulated utilities, politics and non-profits located throughout the United States.
Prior to moving to Chattanooga, Vince worked for Texas Instruments as the media relations program manager for its analog semiconductor division managing the day-to-day media relations and communication activities. Vince planned and coordinated the grand opening of the $1 billion Jack Kilby Research and Development Center in Dallas during his time with TI. Vince also has worked as an account executive for BSMG Worldwide where he was responsible for supporting the media relations activities for a variety of technology clients, including SABRE, Amtech, Transamerica, Unisys and the Wireless Applications Protocol Forum.
Vince graduated from the University of North Texas in 1995 after earning a degree in journalism with a minor in political science. Vince currently lives in Hixson, Tennessee, with his wife, Amy, and his two sons, Alex and Read.
Vince loves baseball and serves as little league coach for his son’s baseball team.
In his spare time, he likes to play golf and trying his luck at trout fishing up and down the Ocoee River. The last book he read was “Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer” by James L. Swanson.
